Bachelor of Science in Environment, Lands and Sustainable Infrastructure
Part I – When to Join

Intakes are in January, May and September.

Part II – Requirements
Program Rationale Land is critical to the economic, social and cultural development of Kenya. The land issue has been a defining factor in Kenyan history. During the colonial period, land was one of the key reasons for the struggle for independence. Moreover, land issues have remained critical, politically sensitive and culturally complex in post-independent Kenya. Until recently, post-independent Kenya lacked a clearly defined or codified national land policy. The result of this has been a very complex land administration system that has been unable to form a platform upon which to solve historical land injustices and current environmental challenges on land. Equipping current and future land managers with a B.Sc. in Environment, Lands and   Sustainable Infrastructure is a milestone in the provision of the critically required human resource in the land and land use policy implementation. The program intends to equip students with scientific knowledge and skills required to tackle technical issues in the management of land resources sustainably. The degree program will offer a rigorous science-based curriculum that will adequately address public, private and community lands in line with National Land Policy and other existing frameworks for sustainable development. This is highly desirable in the wake of the global Sustainable development Goals (SDGs) and the global target of achieving sustainable development in all member countries. Land investment and infrastructure is anticipated to experience high growth cantered on the emerging growth projections currently experienced in many African countries. As the country struggles to grow and achieve its vision 2030 which includes among other targets the achievement of environmental quality and sustainable land uses, there is need for mainstreaming environmental sustainable I project planning and development. This programme seeks to equip future workforce in land management and infrastructure related sectors with the much needed skills in line with the market demands.   Programme Specific Admission Requirements Candidates wishing to study for BELSI must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements for admission.
