EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

  1. TVET Curriculum Reforms. The Ministry of Education is currently reviewing the TVET curriculum to align it with the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework. This aims to make TVET graduates more market-ready and skilled for industry needs.
  2. Implementation of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). The government is expanding the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) initiative to certify informal sector workers based on their skills rather than formal education. This initiative aims to integrate informal sector workers into the mainstream economy.
  3. Upcoming TVET Fair and Career Exhibitions (March-April 2025). Various TVET institutions and stakeholders will hold career fairs across counties to promote enrollment in technical courses and showcase the latest innovations in vocational training. We are looking forward for the same activities so that we harness and attract more slots for our institute
  4. Funding & Scholarships for TVET Students. The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and government agencies are rolling out new funding models for TVET students, including increased bursaries and loans.
  5. Digitization of TVET Education (Ongoing 2025). Efforts are underway to integrate digital learning platforms in TVET institutions, enabling students to access online training and certification programs.
  6. TVET Enrolment Drive & National Apprenticeship Program. A nationwide campaign is expected to launch soon to increase TVET enrollment among youth and promote work-based learning through the National Apprenticeship Program.
  7. Partnerships with the Private Sector. More TVET institutions are partnering with private companies to provide hands-on experience for students, with a focus on sectors like manufacturing, ICT, and renewable energy. As an Institute we are looking forward to partnering more with different companies for the ease of knowledge sharing and help our students be able to understand more about the careers they are taking.
  8. The Upcoming March/April CDAAC exams series. The Institute looks forward to commencing a series of exams this coming month for students undertaking the CDAAC courses. This will help our students complete their courses and graduate in due course.
