The School of Business and Economics (SBE) offers exciting educational opportunities for students from all backgrounds, locations, and the diversities found in Kenya. We offer cutting-edge programmes, including twelve (12) bachelor’s programmes, five (5) master’s programmes, and three (3) Postgraduate Programmes that prepare our students for success in the real world. We pride ourselves in commanding the numbers as the largest faculty within the University in terms of the programmes and student population.

The faculty has gone over and beyond in providing learners with access to professional courses offered by professional bodies in Kenya. For example, our learners have the unparalleled advantage of taking Certified Public Accountants (CPA) and Accounting Technician Diploma (ATD) courses that are offered in partnership with Kenya Accountants and Secretaries National Examinations Board (KASNEB). In attaining a competitive advantage as faculty and as a University, we have partnered with other professional organizations such as Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) and Kenya Society of Professional Co-operators (KSPC), among other institutions that offer various professional courses to ensure that our learners access professional training with ease.

 The University is at the advanced stages of signing partnership memoranda with the Kenya Institute of Bankers (KIB) and Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) to have their professional courses offered at the University under SBE.

The faculty are dedicated professionals and industry experts who excel in connecting with students and providing an educational experience equal to that of any university.

 Under the School of Business and Economics, students not only get the most updated academic materials in the classroom but also have many opportunities for real-world application while still students. The blended learning method, face-to-face and online classes, adopted by the School acclimatises our students with the current trends in the education sector, where technology is a core driver and competency in it is an added advantage. 

The faculty also provides other opportunities for experiential learning. At The Co-operative University of Kenya, students have the opportunity to access personalized education that is tailored to the learners’ needs and informed by industry demands. Education in and out of the classroom is seamlessly available. Our faculty are friendly, welcoming and supportive. With relatively medium sized classes, our students have the opportunity to know the faculty and work with them side by side on research projects, ensuring timely and uninterrupted completion of their programmes.

  • CUK Degree holders who attained 2nd class honours upper division and above progressing to MBA will be granted a fee waiver at a rate of 20% on tuition fees for 1st semester, 1st year.
  • Degree holders with similar qualifications from other institutions will be granted fees waiver at a rate of 5% of the tuition fees for the 1st semester, 1st year.
