BACHELOR OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND MARKETING

Rationale of the Programme

Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and Marketing is designed with the knowledge that scientific research is of paramount importance for continuous development of society in different spheres; social, cultural, economic and political. Therefore, the trained Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and Marketing candidates will promote scientific advancement and excellence while improving the welfare of humanity, through agricultural research, critical analysis, and contributions to future solutions for societal problems.

2.5.1   Programme Specific Admission Requirements

 

Candidates wishing to study Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and Marketing programme must satisfy at least one of the following minimum requirements for admission:

  1. The minimum requirements applicable to candidates directly out of secondary school education:

Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+. Further, a C (plain) in each of the following subjects  Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry/ Physics Agriculture /Geography OR a C (plain) in each of the following subjects, Biological sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics /Geography/Agriculture or any of the group IV subjects in KCSE or an A level equivalent

  1. Alternative requirements applicable to candidates seeking admission into the programme

 

  1. KCSE Mean Grade C- (minus) or its equivalent, plus a diploma with a credit I pass or its equivalent in Agriculture, Animal Health, Animal Production and Husbandry, Farm Management or equivalent qualifications  from  The Cooperative University of Kenya or from other Institutions recognized  by the University Senate

OR

  1. The Kenya Certificate of Education (KCE), East African Certificate of Education (EACE) “Ordinary Level” Division II or their equivalents, plus a Diploma with a credit I pass (mean score of 60%)or their equivalents in Agriculture, Animal Health, Animal Production and Husbandry, Farm Management or equivalent  qualifications  from  The Cooperative University of Kenya or from other Institutions recognized  by the University Senate

OR
