MASTERS OF SCIENCE IN TOURISM

Rationale of the programme

Through an interdisciplinary approach this course introduces the learner to the nature of tourism industry from multidisciplinary perspective. The course imparts knowledge and comprehension by introducing research skills, the development of critical analysis and encourages the articulation of concepts and opinions. The learner will be made aware of the development of system thinking and its application in the tourism industry. The programme is aimed at producing professionals that have technical know-how, managerial skills and theoretical comprehension of the tourism area of study to be able to make a significant contribution to the development of the tourism industry.

Admission Requirements for the Proposed Programme

In addition to the general admission requirements for masters programmes the MSc in finance admits students with the following qualifications:

  1. i) Bachelor of commerce with finance and accounting specializations, Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Financial Engineering or equivalent qualification (for the respective degrees the requirement is at least second-class lower division or pass with 2-year experience in finance field)
  2. ii) Bachelor’s degree in any filed plus a professional qualification in finance (CFA, CIFA or CIIA) (for the respective degrees the requirement is at least second-class lower division or pass with 2-year experience in finance field)
