Cuk’s 2nd Graduation Ceremony

The Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK) hereby announces its 2nd Graduation Ceremony that will be held on Friday 1st December, 2017 at the Main Campus (Karen starting at 8.00 a.m. All candidates who have qualified for award of various certificates, diplomas and conferment of degrees during the 2016/2017 academic year are invited to attend. During the occasion, the University will also celebrate ISO 9001:2015 Certification of Quality Management System and launch of its 2017 – 2022 Strategic Plan.   EXAMINATION RESULTS All students who completed their programmes in 2016/2017 academic year are advised to confirm their graduation status at their respective Schools/Campuses/Directorates with effect  from 20th November, 2017.   CONFIRMATION OF NAMES Graduands are required to apply for the 2017 graduation and ensure correctness of their names in terms of order and spelling. The application forms are available at the respective Schools and Campuses/directorate and may also be downloaded from the University website www.cuk.ac.ke. The completed forms should be submitted to the respective Schools/Campuses/Directorates before Wednesday 22nd November, 2017.   CLEARING OF FEE BALANCES Graduands are expected to have cleared any outstanding fee balances by 24th November, 2017. Those who will not have cleared fees by the stated date will be excluded from the graduation list.   GRADUATION FEES The mandatory graduation fees for the various categories of graduands are as indicated below:   S/  No AWARD GRADUATION  FEES (Kshs) ACADEMIC  DRESS(Kshs) ALUMNI      FEE  (Kshs) TOTAL     PAYABLE  (Kshs) 1. Degree 3,400 1,100 500 5,000   All payments must be made through Co-operative Bank, Account No. 01129062663600, Karen Branch.   COLLECTION AND RETURN OF ACADEMIC DRESS Graduation gowns are available for hire upon presentation of the original National Identity card and a hiring of gowns form. Gowns will be collected from Room G6 at Main Campus (Karen) starting from Monday 27th November, 2017 to Wednesday 29th November, 2017 and returned by 8th December, 2017. Failure to return the gown by the stated date will attract a penalty of Kshs. 300/= per day.   REHEARSAL All graduands are expected to attend rehearsal on Thursday 30th November, 2017 at 10.00 a.m. at the Graduation Square at the Main Campus, Karen in full Academic Attire.   INVITATION CARDS During the hiring of academic dress, each graduand will be given two invitation cards for their guests. Persons without graduation cards will not be allowed into the graduation square.   PUNCTUALITY Graduands and their guests will be expected to have taken their seats by 8.00 a.m. Those who will be late will not be allowed into the graduation square.   REGISTRAR, ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Varsity meets C.A.K and Germany’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food

The Co-operative Alliance of Kenya (CAK) is collaborating with the Germany Ministry of Agriculture and Food (FMAF) to a project to strengthen governance and value-addition in agricultural Co-operatives in Kenya. Both parties have agreed to work with the Co-operative University College of Kenya in key areas of the project. The purpose of the meeting was to enable CAK and FMAF to brief CUCK on the proposed project and get the commitment of CUCK to participate in it. Professor Douglas Shitanda, The principal CUCK, welcomed the guests to the Co-operative University College of Kenya (CUCK) and assured them the University’s commitment to collaborate with development partners to strengthen Co-operatives, Co-operative studies and research in Kenya. He stated that the core business, and indeed the mission, of CUCK is capacity building for the Co-operative Sector in Kenya and its associated industries. Registration for January – April 2014 Semester

As we welcome you back from the short break, we want to bring the following notices to your attention: You are expected to clear any pending fees balance for last semester before you are given the key to the residential halls. Those who have cleared fees balances for last semester to collect examination cards from the Registry (Examinations begin on Thursday 9th January 2014 afternoon). Registration for the new semester January-April 2014 will take place as follows: Group Date All continuing Diploma and certificate students Thursday 16th January 2014 from 8.00am BCOB self sponsored (May 2013 group) Thursday 16th January 2014 from 8.00am All continuing JAB and Degree self sponsored students Thursday 23rd January 2014 from 8.00am All new students Monday 20th January 2014 from 8.00am NB: 1) All students MUST register on their specified date as shown above. 2) On the date of your registration, collect a registration checklist from Registry to guide you on the registration procedure. 3) Please note that the university will not recognize you as a bona fide student registered for this semester until you sign the nominal roll. 4) Those who are in possession of any fees deposit slips should deposit them at Finance office immediately to avoid any possible loses.

Student and Staff Laptops/Tablet Program

  The University is facilitating students and staff to acquire quality laptops at a subsidized rate of Ksh. 43,500/=. This will ensure a 1:1 student and staff laptop ratio. The terms of reference for the Student Laptop program, will be as follows The student shall be required to cater for the payment of the laptop in two installments as indicated below First installment of KES 23,500 (twenty three thousand, five hundred Kenya shillings) at the beginning of the first semester (Jan 2014) for new students or the commencement of semester for continuing students who opt into the program. Second installment of KES 20,000 (twenty thousand Kenya shillings) at the beginning of the second semester for all students enrolled in the students’ laptop program. Staff should liaise with HR on the terms. This notice is therefore to kindly request all students and staff  to fill and return the student/staff laptop program registration form available at the ICT-Office (main Campus) and the Directors Office (Town Campus, Meru Campus and Mombasa Campus) in order to join the program.  The deadline for registration is January 30th, 2014

Important Notice About Fraudulent Telephone Calls Regarding Student Accommodation.

It has come to our attention that unscrupulous sources have reached out to students, parents and the public through phone calls, purporting to be from The Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK) Accommodation Office demanding payments for student accommodation. Kindly note that CUK does not allocate student hostels by phone and payment for student accommodation is not made through MPESA. The accommodation fee is paid in the bank accounts as provided by the University.
