Mr. Isaiah Thuranira Lithara-Chief Security Officer
![]() Mr. Isaiah Lithara, with 37 years of experience in law enforcement and security matters, has built a remarkable career in the Kenya Police, working in the Traffic Department, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations as an investigator and detective, the Anti-Terrorism Department, and as Deputy County Criminal Investigations Officer. He holds a Bachelor’s in Criminology and Security Studies from Kisii University (2017) and a Diploma in Forensic and Criminal Investigation from the Kenya Institute of Criminal Justice (2014). His certifications include a 2025 Supervisory Development Course from the Kenya School of Government, Counter-terrorism training from the Australian and British High Commissions, Courses on Preventing attacks and Interdicting Terrorist activities from the U.S. Diplomatic Security training, Traffic Accident Investigation from Red Cross first aid courses, a Methodist Lay Preacher’s Certificate from Wesley Methodist in Mombasa, and Public Complaints Resolution Training from the Ombudsman in Nairobi. Since joining The Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK) as Head of Security in July 2021, Mr. Lithara has transformed campus safety. He introduced stronger security policies, enhanced coordination with local law enforcement, and implemented staff training programs. His efforts have reduced security incidents, recovered stolen property, ensured offender prosecutions, and built trust with the university community, creating a safer environment for all. |
